NATURE WALKS We can arrange guided and self-guided walks showing some of the beautiful flowers as well as the coffee farms and other flora of the area. Walks can last from 30 minutes to three hours. We can also arrange a hike in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area ending at a waterfall.
		BIRD WATCHING There are hundreds of species of birds found in the Karatu area. They range from the waterfowl found to the south in nearby Lake Manyara to birds that nest in the hills of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and the crater's rim.
		CULTURAL EXCURSIONS The lodge, and Karatu is in the heart of the land of Iraqw tribesmen. We can arrange a cultural visit to the town and local village. Also, a few hours drive away, at Lake Eyasi, the hunter/gatherer tribesmen of the Hadzabe and Watoga tribes maintain a culture that has lasted for generations.
		GAME VIEWING The Bougainvillea Safari Lodge is just minutes from the entrance gate to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and beyond sits the endless plains of the Serengeti. To the south, the lodge is only a thirty minute drive to Lake Manyara National Park.
